Hi there! My name is Alexis Kinney and I was a patient with Comprehensive Physical Therapy Center last semester. My experience with Comprehensive Physical Therapy Cetner was a blessing in getting me back to doing things I love and I can never thank the people there enough.
I am an avid runner, rock climber, skier, you know the usual outdoor activist. But when last ski season ended with two torn lasteral meniscus in both my knees, it affected me in more than just pain; it meant I was leafy of doing anything that would cause them to be any worse than they already were. I never got the chance to get surgey for my knees, which was unfortunate because I had to deal with healign without proper strenthening of those muscles and if affected my running as well as any activities that dealt with those specific muscles.
When I went to college in the fall, I felt it would be the perfect time to try out new routes around campus and to stay in shape. Unfortunately, I found out shortly that my knees were going to keep me from running farther than a few steps. This just wasn’t going to work for me. However, my dearest friend Annie, who just happened to work at Comprehensive, came to my rescue and recommended that I try going to the office she worked at, having the physical therapists there take care of me. I was a little skeptical because I was a mess. Along with my knees, I also dealt with weak ankles (genetic) and his that threw off my stride. But my first visit changed my skepticism into a bout of hope.
Dave, a rather wonderful entergetic man was who I greeted by when I first arrived. Through the process of collecting my measurements and the areas that needed work, we talked over a common topic of running, which was comforting. By the end of my first visit, I knew that over the next few weeks, I had to work on my hips, knees and ankles. However, I had no idea what was in store for me in order to strengthen them. Well, boy did I find out. The following weeks, I had the pleasure of having Kea, who worked with me endlessly, and I always walked out of the clinic sore or about to be sore later in the day. In addition to my visits to Comprehensive, I also had various exercises that haad to be completed to help strengthen those muscles. Those alone were taxing on me, especially after a long day of classs. But over time, I could tell that I was becoming stronger. And I have everyone from Comprehensive to thank for that.
Without their flexibility, hospitality, and friendliness, I wouldn’t have been able to overcome my knee injury and be able to do what I love the same way again and with their home exercises I’m able to keep it up. I am so thankful and grateful to have met everyone at Comprehensive. I can never thank you guys enough! If I ever have to go back to PT, I know who exactly to call!
